bioMATTERS, un estudio de biodiseño con sede en Nueva York y Londres, ha desarrollado materiales vivos y flujos de trabajo de fabricación para crear sistemas de revestimiento interior no repetitivos. Las baldosas ofrecen una alternativa sostenible a los paneles de interior, ya que están hechas de organismos vivos, residuos orgánicos reciclados y son 100% biodegradables. Los paneles se diseñan con algoritmos informáticos, se imprimen en 3D, se cultivan con micelio y se mejoran con biopigmentos de algas para darles color. La ambición incluye la evolución de la bioestética y el avance de las prácticas ecológicas, para promover un cambio cultural hacia los biomateriales.
