Envases domésticos compostables procedentes del mar

Hoy en día nos enfrentamos a un enorme problema de residuos de materiales sintéticos, porque los productos desechables o de corta duración se fabrican con materiales duraderos. Los envases de ESPUMA DE ALGAS MARINAS pretenden, como mínimo, reducir la contaminación ambiental con residuos sólidos: el material es completamente orgánico, ya que está hecho sólo de algas marinas y agua. Una vez consumido el envase de ESPUMA DE ALGAS MARINAS, el material puede compostarse en casa o utilizarse como fertilizante. Aunque el envase se desechara como residuo, gracias a los procesos naturales y a los microorganismos volvería a formar parte de la naturaleza y no causaría ningún daño al medio ambiente.

SEA FOAM is the newly established Lithuanian start-up which uses the special seaweed processing method and creates a bio-foam material that can be used for a new type of home-compostable packaging products Our bio-foam packaging solutions are made only from seaweed & water, so after the product is consumed, the material can simply be home-composted or used as a fertiliser. Even if the packaging would be discarded as waste, due to natural processes and micro-organisms it will again become a part of nature, and will cause no harm to the environment or other forms of life at all

I’m a creative researcher from Lithuania working in between the disciplines of material design and science, technology and craft. I’m a Ph.D. candidate of design & Biomaterials Design lecturer at Vilnius Academy of Arts, a pioneer of material design & Zero Waste philosophy in Lithuania, and a founder of the 1st sustainable materials collection in my country, called Biomaterials Library. I’m also a founder of the newly established Lithuanian startup SEAWEED FOAM, which uses the special seaweed processing method & creates a bio-foam materials for a new type of home-compostable packaging products
