Tejidos recubiertos de metal con efectos visuales únicos
La investigación utiliza la tecnología de recubrimiento por pulverización catódica de magnetrones para colocar películas metálicas muy finas, a escala nanométrica, sobre textiles. Es la primera vez que se integran la ciencia de los materiales, la ingeniería y la fabricación de nuevos tejidos brillantes sin vertidos ni contaminación. En los trabajos de investigación se han examinado las propiedades del material en cuanto a permeabilidad al aire, repelencia al agua, blindaje contra la radiación y desodorización. Los clientes de la industria disfrutan de un producto único, con cualidades estéticas hasta ahora no disponibles. Otras ventajas medioambientales son la ausencia de emisiones de polvo, olores químicos y residuos industriales.
