Algee

Bio furniture that grows with the ecosystem
Vote now

Algee is a bio-based soft-seating furniture system inspired by algae through its forms, textures and materials. The multifunctionality and modularity of its components allow it to adapt to shared-use spaces, enabling it to expand and grow, just as algae do in nature. Manufactured using PHB, a 100% biodegradable bioplastic produced by cyanobacteria, which is transformed through 3D printing and Artificial Intelligence algorithms. Algee has been designed with a strong focus on materiality and its impact over time, aiming to serve as a precedent for a shift in the industry’s production model.

Alejandro Alfaro Enguídanos
Hello, my name is Alejandro Alfaro. I am a product designer, although I consider myself highly multidisciplinary, with a strong ability to adapt to any type of project. I strive to reflect my deep devotion to design in every project I undertake. All of them share a common element: nature as a core source of inspiration in terms of functionality, aesthetics and materiality. I believe there is something beautiful, pure and inspiring in nature that should make us more aware of sustainability and the circular economy. Our planet is our only vessel, with a shared destiny.
