product design and material research with chitosan
Vote now

ChitoCasing is a material research project that translates chitosan—a biopolymer from wasted shrimp shells or fungi—into reusable everyday products like transparent document sleeves and folders. It aims to replace possibly harmful materials with a fully biodegradable, non-toxic, and anti-septic composite. The material is tear-resistant and versatile for various processing techniques, demonstrating its potential as a sustainable bioplastic alternative.
