Track, Trace, and Transform Reclaimed Stories
Vote now

Insieme is a physical installation and digital platform that demonstrates circular construction by using reclaimed bricks from demolition waste. It serves architects, educators, and visitors interested in reuse. It repairs damaged bricks with custom 3D-printed biomaterial inserts made from construction waste, reducing landfill and material extraction. Each brick has an engraved QR code for tracking its history, repair, and future reuse potential, promoting circular practices at scale.

Vanessa Costalonga, Clara Blum, Catherine De Wolf
Prof. Catherine De Wolf, Vanessa Costalonga, and Clara Blum from the Chair of Circular Engineering for Architecture (CEA) at ETH Zurich explore circular design through digital innovation. De Wolf leads research linking reuse and technology for a regenerative built environment. Costalonga focuses on transdisciplinary and place-based approaches to study how digital fabrication can support material reuse in informal and self-built contexts, while Blum investigates track-and-trace technologies with a focus on digital-physical linkages and data governance for circular-construction supply chains.
