The BROKEN=GOOD tea set challenges high aesthetic standards for porcelain to promote resource-saving manufacturing. It uses design flaws and irregular forms as intentional features, which helps reduce the typical porcelain discard rate from 10-30% to under 3%. This reduces ceramic waste and saves energy by allowing stacked firing and using a glaze made 100% from salvaged production residues. The project serves as an impulse to rethink consumer and production standards in the industry.
