Fragments From Shrinking Shore

Biomaterial innovation from fish-scales for design
Vote now

Fragments From Shrinking Shore turns discarded fish scales from the fishing industry into a new low-impact biomaterial for design sectors, like fashion and interiors. The material, which offers outputs like sequins and leather-like sheets, replaces high-impact products such as plastic and synthetic leather. It is sustainable due to its low-energy, low-carbon production process, natural coatings, and full biodegradability. The project also supports coastal communities by creating a circular economy around waste.
