SHOOT

A precision pen made from a single bamboo shoot

SHOOT is a manually crafted, refillable pen made from a single piece of rapidly renewable bamboo. The design integrates the material for structure and grip, utilizing low-energy, craft-informed manufacturing. Its innovation lies in functional variations (like dual-refill) and a circular lifecycle that prioritizes repair, refill, and long-term use over disposability, supported by simple, reusable packaging.

I am an Industrial Design undergraduate at the National Institute of Design, Assam, working at the intersection of form development, material exploration, and functional refinement. My practice involves hands-on prototyping and iterative testing, with a strong focus on bamboo and craft-informed processes. I aim to create products that are structurally efficient, materially responsible, and designed for everyday use, balancing precision with the inherent character of natural materials.
