Texterra

Potential for textile transformations
Vote now

Texterra is a bio-based composite material made from hard-to-recycle textile mixed fibers and natural binders like corn starch and plant oil. It offers designers a versatile, recyclable alternative to plastic or faux leather, usable in various fabrication processes like pressing or 3D printing. The project addresses textile waste by reusing resources that would otherwise be incinerated or downcycled. Production can be local and manual, requiring low energy, and the final modular products are fully recyclable.
