The project marks the starting point of Telefónica’s new sustainability strategy in hardware development. It shows how a high-performance everyday product can be rethought through ecological responsibility, accessibility, and long-term value. A cleverly designed housing reduces the number of parts, saving material and lowering emissions. Durable, refurbishment-friendly construction, responsible materials, energy-saving features, and Braille markings combined create a holistic solution with both environmental and social impact.

The "O2 HomeBox 4" stands out for its holistic, sustainable product design, which combines repairability, refurbishment-friendly construction, reduced material diversity, and energy-efficient use to meet current Green Deal requirements. Durability and reusability reduce resource consumption and emissions.
