Sustainable innovations from 54 countries honored – 50,000 votes cast in the public voting
Berlin, 1 June 2026 – On May 28, the International Green Product Awards were presented at Berlin’s Colosseum. Under the guiding theme “Shape what matters,” the awards honored outstanding sustainable products, concepts, and materials from around the world.
From a total of 1,200 submissions from 54 countries, the best projects were recognized across 12 categories, including interior design, consumer goods, architecture, mobility, fashion, and new materials. The award-winning projects included contributions from established brands such as Lavazza and Telefónica O2, innovative start-ups such as Berlin-based Orbisens, as well as students from four continents.
The category winners were selected by an international jury. In addition, the public chose its favorites: a total of 50,000 votes were cast in the public voting.
Ahead of the awards ceremony, the annual Green Product Summit took place. During the summit, industry experts provided around 100 participants with practical examples and current insights into new sustainability regulations and their impact on companies, product development, and design. In interactive sessions, participants exchanged knowledge, discussed solutions, and formed new alliances.
“The winners of this year’s awards demonstrate in very practical ways what sustainable products are all about today — from the use of innovative materials to repairability and take-back systems,” says Nils Bader, Director of the Green Product Awards.
At the close of the event, the Green Trend Book No. 13 was presented — a 200-page compendium of international sustainable innovations, showcasing current developments, award-winning projects, and forward-looking approaches in sustainable design and product development.
The International Green Product Awards make one thing clear: sustainability is no longer a niche topic, but a key driver of innovation for companies, designers, and young talents worldwide.
