+/- Brace is a customisable pain-relieving elbow brace that reduces the risk of injury during physical or sporting activity and is manufactured through a combination of additive 3D printing and subtractive laser cutting. An algorithm creates the optimal design based on user data entered in the +/- Brace app. Increasing efficiency in 3D printed textile-based manufacturing and incorporating an open-source process eventually led to the development of affordable customised braces.
