Green Pre-Selection 2022

All the outfits consist of broken and carefully collected umbrellas that I have got on fleamarkets, second-hand shops and through my personal social environment. I first deconstructed them and then re-introduced the textile as component for constructing new garments. I was inspired by the general function of umbrellas, the 3D shape, and the shape given once the metal spokes are removed. Inspired by experimental pattern-making together with sustainable thinking, I tried to create contemporary outfits using vintage, handcrafted umbrellas containing memories and emotions.
