A volumetric curved foldable timber girder concept
This research aims to simplify the design availability of lightweight structures made of wood. The elastic deformation of wooden panels is used to fold flat segments along a curve to form a curved box girder. The method of transformation used for this shows how the phases of use of architectural elements can be better linked by taking a movement sequence into account and thus represents a novelty in lightweight construction.
