There are millions of tons of coal-fired fly ash produced in Taiwan per year. Generally, fly ash is used in the concretes, but current recycling methods cannot accommodate the large amount of coal-fired fly ash and meet its recycling demand.
To develop coal-fired fly ash utilization methods, the “renewable feldspar” was synthesized by coal-fired fly ash and oyster shells, which can be used in industries such as plastics, rubber, coatings, and building materials.
This new recycling technology not only solves the problems of large amounts fly ash, but it also diminishes the large amounts of discarded oyster shells, which damage the environment and ecology.
It furthermore creates an economic boost and reduces the exploitation of mineral mining.
